Tyson’s practice of Somatic Bodywork is an ongoing integration of his graduation from the 4 year Feldenkrais Practitioner Training in 2001.

For over 2 decades now he has been combining the energetic principles of Thai Massage and the neuromuscular communication through touch in the Feldenkrais Method to create a unique form of Somatic Bodywork that supports brain health, nervous system healing and high performance in life.

There are 2 forms of the Feldenkrais Method in practice:

Functional Integration is the hands on practice done with individuals to support a self regulating nervous system.   As the brain & nervous system communicates all biological functions in a human being, any imbalance in the functioning of the brain reflects into the various systems of which the imbalance is related to.  While offering Functional Integration, Tyson embodies a well regulated nervous system and this helps the person receiving remember how self regulation feels.  This promotes co-regulation between the 2 nervous systems, a biological birthright of human beings to feel safe together, belong and be open to share Life together.  Subtle well-embodied communication between nervous systems in a safe & supportive setting that leads to experiences of co-regulation and healing is confirmed in the evolving field of neuroscience.  And emerging evidence indicates that healing all the way to the genetic level can occur when humans remember how to co-regulate together.

Awareness Through Movement is the succinct description Dr. Feldenkrais chose for the relationship between conscious, embodied movement explorations, our highest faculty (Awareness) and the ever evolving potential we have as human beings.  In practical terms,  Awareness Through Movement is a subtle yet powerful guided learning process that begins to improve brain health and neuro-muscular functioning while being curious to the infinite ways in which you can move your body through space.  Feldenkrais started this ball rolling by gifting hundreds of these movement lessons to the world before passing away at age 80 in 1984.  Since then, people trained in the Feldenkrais Method pass on these classic lessons invented by him and also find great inspiration & insight from creating new lessons based on the principles of the work.
